外免切替 Japan Driving Test — Privacy Policy

Effective: 26 September 2026

外免切替 Japan Driving Test 知識確認 ("the app", package com.gaimenkirikae.app) is a practice and mock-test app for Android for the knowledge check (知識確認) taken when converting a foreign driving licence in Japan (外免切替).

What the app collects

Nothing. The app does not collect, store on a server, share or sell any personal or usage data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

What stays on your device

Your test answers, a test in progress, results, marked questions, your mistakes list, problem reports you write and your settings are saved in the app's private storage on your phone, so that you can resume a test and review your results. They never leave the device in this version of the app. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes them.

If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include this data in your phone's own backup, as it does for most apps. That backup belongs to your Google account; the developer cannot see it.

Internet access

The app declares the Internet permission for a planned "Check for updates" feature that will download new and corrected questions, and send the problem reports you wrote, from a content service. This version does not include that feature: it does not connect to any server, your reports stay on your phone and are not sent anywhere, and the app works fully offline. If a future version sends any data, this policy will be updated before that version is released and will say exactly what is sent.

The conversion guide lists official web pages (National Police Agency, prefectural police). Tapping one opens it in your browser; the app itself sends nothing.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. It is meant for adults converting a driving licence.
