Offline AI Chat: Local LLM — Privacy Policy
Effective: 24 September 2026
Offline AI Chat: Local LLM ("the app") is an AI chat app for Android. It runs language models on your phone and can also talk to a server that you run yourself.
What the app collects
Nothing. The developer does not collect, receive, store, share or sell any personal or usage data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking.
What stays on your device
Your conversations, flagged replies, server addresses and API keys you enter, and your settings are saved in the app's private storage on your phone. Model files you download are saved in the app's own storage folder. Android's backup may include your chats and settings (never the model files) in your own Google backup, under your device's backup settings. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes all of it.
When the app uses the internet
Only in these cases, each started by you:
- Downloading a model. The file is downloaded from its publisher's page on Hugging Face (huggingface.co) through Android's download manager. Hugging Face receives the request like any web download (your IP address and the file requested); no data about you or your chats is sent.
- Using your own server. If you add a server (for example Ollama or LM Studio on your computer), the messages of chats that use it are sent to that server, and only there. You control that server.
- Sending flagged replies. If you choose "Send by email", the app opens your email app with the flagged replies filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.
On-device models never use the network. Chats with them never leave the phone.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
