USB Camera Viewer — Privacy Policy

Effective: 26 September 2026

USB Camera Viewer: Endoscope ("the app", package com.usbcameraviewer.app) shows USB endoscopes, borescopes, microscopes, webcams and capture cards that you plug into your Android phone, and saves the photos and videos you take with them.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app does not collect, upload, share or sell any personal or usage data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no tracking. The app does not have Android's Internet permission, so it cannot send anything over the network.

Camera permission

Android treats USB video devices as cameras, so the app asks for the camera permission before it opens one. The picture from the camera you plug in is shown on the screen and processed on the phone only. The same applies when the camera is opened through Android's camera service instead: frames never leave the phone.

What stays on your device

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes the settings and the log. Photos and videos saved to your gallery stay until you delete them.

Sharing

When you tap Share (a photo, a video, or the connection report on the "What's plugged in" screen), Android's share sheet opens and you choose where it goes. The app itself sends nothing; the connection report contains your phone's model and Android version and the USB device IDs, and no serial numbers.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If a future version ever sends any data off the phone, this policy will be updated before that version is released and will say exactly what is sent.
