Seikai JLPT bot — Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Seikai JLPT Telegram bot (@JLPTSeikaiBot, "the bot") and to the season pass sold in it. "We" are Seikai, the bot's developer. By using the bot you agree to these terms. By paying for a pass you confirm that you have read them and the refund policy.

What the bot is

The bot is a study tool for the JLPT: practice tests and questions for each level, with explanations, translations, listening clips and an estimated score. Seikai is not affiliated with the Japan Foundation or JEES. The estimated score is a guide, not an official result, and nothing in the bot promises that you will pass the JLPT.

Free and paid

Every test is free to take, with the answers and the score. Some parts of the questions belong to the season pass. Today these are the explanation and translation of grammar questions, and the explanation, script and translation of listening questions that have a clip. Each level's free test is open in full, and every day you can open a few questions in full for free. The bot shows which parts are in the pass before you pay.

The season pass

It is one payment in Telegram Stars. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
It opens the pass parts of every test in every level until the last day of the season shown before you pay (for example 31 December 2026), whatever day you buy it.
The price is shown in the invoice. Prices can differ between users and between seasons; you pay the one shown when you pay.
It comes with a one-use code that gives the same pass in the Seikai JLPT Android app until the same day. The code is for you; a code you give to someone else counts as used by you.
The pass belongs to the Telegram account that paid for it and cannot be moved to another account.
A gift code (/redeem) opens the pass for the days or until the day it states, in the bot, in the app, or in both, as the code says. A code obtained by fraud, or one we cancel, closes the pass it opened.
By paying you ask for the pass to start at once. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a digital purchase, that right ends when the pass starts. The refund policy still applies.

Refunds

See the refund policy. In short: a full refund in Stars if the pass does not work for you or you were charged by mistake, when you ask within 14 days of the payment.

Payment support

Purchases in the bot are handled by us, not by Telegram: Telegram support cannot help with them. Send /paysupport in the bot or write to regardtous@gmail.com.

Using the content

The questions, explanations, translations, clips and pictures are for your own study. Forwarding a question to a friend is fine. Copying them in bulk, republishing or selling them, and collecting them with scripts are not.

Fair use

Do not try to break the bot, to get the pass without paying, or to overload the bot. We may end a pass that was obtained by fraud or that was charged back, and we may stop serving an account that abuses the bot.

Availability and changes

We fix mistakes and add tests, so the content changes over time. We aim to keep the bot running, but it can be down or contain errors: please use ⚑ Report on a question that looks wrong.

Liability

The bot is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, and our liability for a pass is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

The bot runs on Telegram. Telegram's Terms of Service apply to your use of Telegram, and Telegram's Terms for Stars to buying Stars.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top then changes. A change never takes away a pass you have already bought.
